The goal of the LoboPerks program is to connect members of the campus community to businesses who offer them discounts through one concise, easy-to-access site.
The complete LoboPerks program is slated to be a multi-level marketing opportunity for the participating vendors, the first level of which went live on August 1, 2011. This initial phase, available to businesses at no charge, consists of a listing on the LoboPerks website that includes a description of the discount offered, an indicator of the UNM constituency to whom the discount is offered, and a link to the business’ website, if so desired. Included in this level is a spotlight ad on the main LoboPerks page and the opportunity to spice up the shopping experience of local Lobos with the use of QR codes to present unadvertised specials. We will rotate the spotlight ads using artwork provided by the vendors and the use of the QR codes is an option, but one we hope our partner vendors will employ. We have attempted to replicate these Options on the current home page of the site to give our prospective partner vendor an idea of how these options will be employed.
We are now on Twitter (@LoboPerks) and we tweet to let our followers know who's joined the program, so that they can enjoy the discounts; and who's been recommended to the program, so that they can encourage their favorite restaurants, stores and service providers to become one of our partner vendors. We encourage our followers to tweet about their experiences in taking advantage of the discounts, so that everyone knows how easy it can be to save money through LoboPerks!

Future levels of the program will include additional marketing opportunities and information on them will be provided as they are defined.
